PCCF grants will assist Tassel commission of large-scale artwork by Jeremy Hansen The Tassel Coordination Council, Inc., has been awarded two grants through the Phelps County Community Foundation for a large-scale fine art project. The project involves the commissioning from Bertrand artist Jeremy Hansen of a 40-foot wide, four-foot tall, five-panel curved painting titled “History of Music”, to be installed on the 44-foot wide curved balcony wall in the Tassel lobby.
The first grant, for $9,750, is from the Roy W. & Mary L. Pearson Charitable Fund, and the second, for $6,500, is made possible through the William & Margaret Richards Field of Interest Fund and the Phelps County Community Foundation Community Impact Fund. Additional costs of the artwork and overall project will be paid for by the Tassel Coordination Council from funds secured through donations and concert ticket sales. Work is expected to begin on the project immediately and be completed within one year of the start date, likely earlier.
Jeremy Hansen graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1996 and has worked as a professional artist since 2000 doing 25 major shows each year in cities such as Chicago, Miami, Denver, Houston, San Diego, and Dallas, as well as locally.
